The International Food Fest Antalya Gastronomy Festival, organized for the second time by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality in order to protect local food and highlight Antalya cuisine and geographically indicated products of the region, attracted great attention this year as well. The exhibitions, product promotions, workshops, panels, interviews, competitions and concerts continued for 3 days and were followed by many local and foreign people. Organized with the motto "From Antalya to the World", the festival brought together famous Michelin starred chefs, gourmets, gastronomy and tourism writers, and professionals from different fields of the sector from Turkey and the world in Antalya. Professionals shared their knowledge and experiences at the panels and interviews, also exchanged ideas about the steps that can be taken towards the development of gastronomy tourism.
Mehmet Yalçınkaya's Mark on the Festival Final
Chef Mehmet Yalçınkaya, the popular name of the "MasterChef Turkey" program, also met with the participants on the final day of the International Food Fest Antalya Gastronomy Festival. In the interview moderated by Sözen Group CEO Gökmen Sözen, Chef Mehmet shared his ideas with the participants on the initiatives and promotions that should be made to popularize Antalya dishes in chef restaurant menus. Emphasizing that local dishes are relegated to the background by chefs, Yalçınkaya emphasized the importance of organizing training in this field and bringing the dishes of our culture to the place they deserve.
Nursel Ergin Presented, Women's Cooperatives Competed.
Nursel Ergin, the host of the competition program called " Gelinim Mutfakta", was among the notable names at the 2nd International Food Fest Antalya Gastronomy Festival. Nursel Ergin hosted the competition between women's cooperatives on the final day of the festival and attracted attention with her high energy. Representatives of women's cooperatives making Hibeş and Piyaz, two geographically indicated dishes of the region, competed fiercely. At the end of the competition, jury members, including Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, voted on the dishes. Anka Women's Enterprise Production and Management Cooperative, which came first in the event that witnessed exciting moments, was given a quarter gold as a gift.
2nd International Food Fest Antalya Gastronomy Festival Made Antalya a Destination for Food Lovers
Speaking at the finale of the 2nd International Food Fest Antalya Gastronomy Festival, Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Muhittin Böcek said, "Antalya is an extremely popular city in terms of tourism. We are ranked 10th in the world and 1st in Europe in foreign tourist visits. However, we support our producers to further develop our city with local development projects, and we aim to make our city a frequent destination for food lovers with our work in gastronomy. The International Food Fest Antalya Gastronomy Festival has provided us with serious benefits in this sense. I would like to thank everyone who contributed."
The 2nd International Food Fest Antalya Gastronomy Festival hosted thousands of participants, ended with a DJ performance and the final match of the Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team.
