May 19th was celebrated with enthusiasm in Antalya

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality celebrated 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Thousands of Antalya residents carried the 400-meter giant flag on their shoulders. Famous artists Burcu Güneş and Emircan İğrek gave a magnificent concert in Cumhuriyet Square and Serpil Efe gave concert in Serik. A youth race was organized from Çıralı Olympos to Cumhuriyet Square.

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality celebrated the 103rd anniversary of May 19, 1919, the day when Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk set foot in Samsun and the War of Independence began, and May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with great enthusiasm.

Celebrations started early in the morning and the Youth and Sports Services Department organized a youth run from Çıralı Olympos to Cumhuriyet Square. The young people took the unquenchable fire of Olympos Yanartaş with a torch and started running. Young people carrying the torch ran from Çıralı to Kemer and from Kemer to Konyaaltı on 19 May Youth and Sports Day. The young people who participated in the celebrations held within the scope of 19 May walked in the front with torches.

Thousands marched in the torchlight procession

The celebrations of May 19 continued with the enthusiasm of the torchlight procession, which was attended by thousands of Antalya citizens. The torchlight procession organized by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and "Cumhuriyet için Antalya El Ele" Platform started from Konyaaltı Variant and ended at Cumhuriyet Square. Tens of thousands of Antalya citizens participating in the torchlight procession marched, carrying a 400-meter giant Turkish flag and Atatürk poster. The following people participated in the torchlight procession: Deputy Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Büşra Dirgen Özdemir, CHP Antalya Deputies Rafet Zeybek, Cavit Ari, Aydın Özer, CHP Provincial Chairman Nuri Cengiz, IYI Party Provincial Chairman Mehmet Başaran, spokesperson of the "Cumhuriyet için Antalya El Ele" Platform İbrahim Daş, NGOs and many citizens.

The torch burning in Samsun will light our way forever

Büşra Dirgen Özdemir, the Deputy Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, taking the stage after a moment of silence, the National Anthem and Atatürk's Address to the Youth, said that she was happy to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of 19 May 1919 and 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with enthusiasm and also added: “Turkish Youth, children of Atatürk who illuminated the darkness, children of the Republic, do not lose hope, do not lose your faith. Do not give up fighting for this beautiful country. Protect Ataturk's trust without stopping, without giving up. In 2019, at the end of March, just as we brought spring to Antalya with our Mayor Muhittin Böcek and turned Antalya into a city of youth and freedom, we will soon bring summer to Turkey together. I congratulate once again the 19th of May, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, which Atatürk said "today is my birthday". Burcu Güneş and Emir Can İğrek Concert

Burcu Güneş met with her fans from Antalya at the concert organized by the Metropolitan Municipality as part of the celebrations. The famous name of pop music Burcu Güneş sang her lively songs. The famous artist sang the 10th Anniversary March with the Turkish flag and was accompanied by thousands of people filling the square. Emir Can İğrek, one of the young and popular singers of recent times, took the stage for the next performance of the night. The young artist singing his popular songs, had an unforgettable night in Cumhuriyet Square. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Dirgen Özdemir presented a painting of Atatürk and flowers to Burcu Güneş and Emir Can İğrek to commemorate the day.

Citizens of Serik enjoyed the Serpil Efe Concert

The 103rd-anniversary celebrations of the national struggle, which started after Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, set foot in Samsun on May 19, 1919 with the aim of fully independent Turkey, was celebrated with enthusiasm in Serik as well. As part of the 19 May celebrations, the famous artist Serpil Efe gave a concert in Serik.

At the events of May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Department of Culture and Social Affairs, the vibe of youth engulfed Serik from 7 to 70. Many citizens, young and old alike, showed interest in the celebrations held in Serik Çınaraltı Square. Citizens of Serik had an unforgettable night with the Serpil Efe concert organized by the Metropolitan Municipality. The artist sang her most beautiful pieces for the citizens of Serik.
