The excitement for the International Antalya Yörük Türkmen Festival, which will take place in Antalya for three days, has begun.The International Antalya Yörük Türkmen Festival, which began with a migration prayer and a representation of nomadic migration, is still going strong in the festival area, which extends 400 acres in the Aksu district.The festival is a colorful scene, with contributions from 29 countries, 11 metropolitan municipalities, 28 district municipalities, 128 associations, and 68 women's cooperatives.The Yörük culture is encouraged and kept alive in all aspects of the festival, which has attracted a lot of attention since the first day.
Mayor Böcek Welcomes Visitors
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek arrived at the area with a tractor on the first day of the festival to greet the crowd. Mayor Böcek also came by and shared gifts with representatives from Metropolitan Municipalities, District Municipalities, associations, cooperatives, and 11 Metropolitan Municipalities. "We are happy to host our guests at Turkey's largest Yörük Festival," Mayor Böcek stated after visiting the foreign countries' tents.
Uysal and Davutolu Participated in the Festival
Later, Mayor Böcek paid a visit to the stage area, where he was greeted by Future Party Leader Ahmet Davutoğlu and Democrat Party Leader Gültekin Uysal. Mayor Böcek, Davutoglu, and Uysal went to the area's tents and spoke with the nomadic people.
Cultural Feast
Nomads that set tents in the festival area share their cultures and traditions. Nomads, who add color to the celebration with their traditional clothing, also bring their music and cuisine. Horse javelin and horse wrestling competitions were popular. The guest dancing groups from the Turkish World performed folk dances that were well received. A cultural feast is held on the festival grounds, which also includes war games. Thousands of Antalya residents and nomads filled the festival area to congratulate Muhittin Böcek, Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality for his efforts to promote and preserve nomadic culture.
